About Me

My name is James Gavarone and I am a junior at Bowling Green State University. I am a journalism major with a specialization in public relations and a minor in communications. After I obtain my bachelor’s degree, I hope and plan to work as a content creator for a sports organization.

I am involved with Greek Life on campus, as I am a part of the Delta Tau chapter of Delta Tau Delta at Bowling Green State University. I joined as a freshman and I have held multiple positions in the chapter to be more involved. My first job was the Director of Standards, where I oversaw the general security of the chapter and disciplined and held members accountable for their actions. I am currently a part of the public relations team for the chapter and I help create content to be posted on different forms of social media. This involves taking pictures and videos at events, volunteering, or perhaps something else that gives us a good image and posting that for the public to view. I also help with editing some of the videos and pictures that are posted on our social media. I have experience with photoshop and adobe premiere pro so I help in that aspect.

I enjoy attending Bowling Green State University’s athletics and I like to pay attention to the social media for the different teams. My favorite team to watch is the BGSU hockey team because I think they are one of the best sports teams that our school has and they are fun to watch.

Faces of BG

Mohamed Toure

This interview was conducted with Mohamed Touré, a student at Bowling Green State University who grew up in Africa. In the interview, I find out what it was like for Mohamed to transition to America and BGSU and what difficulties and challenges came with it.

This is my unedited audio.

Audio Story

I interviewed two students who go to BGSU and asked them what their experiences are like working remotely. Kaelyn Roberts is an Inside Sales Intern at Schindler Elevator Corporation and Skylar Vissar is a Sales Representative at Seamless.AI. An article on Fox News reported 42% of adults aged 18-49 working remotely find it hard to stay motivated on the job, so I decided to put this to the test.
