My name is Danielle Brickner and I am currently pursuing a Journalism degree with a specialization in Public Relations at Bowling Green State Unitversity. I am also working towards a minor in Marketing. I am a member of the Honors College, and I have maintained a 4.0 GPA thus far. After school, I hope to become a PR representative for a company that hopefully aligns with my other passions. I would really enjoy working in PR in the fashion industry or for a book publishing company. I am currently a sales associate for Altar'd State, a trendy women's clothing store located in Toledo, Ohio. This position has helped me to understand the behind the scenes of the fashion world and put my creative skills to the test as I help my visual manager display the new marketing campaigns.
At BGSU, I am heavily involved in Alpha Xi Delta, a sorority on campus. In the fall of 2020, I became the organization's External Philanthropy Director. I worked with other organizations across campus to support and promote each other's philanthropy causes. I am now Alpha Xi Delta's Campus Relations Director, so I continue to help the chapter connect with other groups on campus. I help the girls create relationships with other organizations and I try to organize events for the members to meet new people outside of the chapter, despite the limitations of COVID-19.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading and writing. In the last five years, I have read over 250 books. My favorite genre is young adult contemporary, and someday I hope to write my own novel. Poetry is another passion of mine, and I love to delve into various poetry anthologies. I also enjoy playing lacrosse and golf. In high school, I was the captain of the lacrosse team and also a scoring member of the golf team. Although I do not get to play either sport as often now, I do like to throw the lacrosse ball around and hit the golf course every so often.

With the curfew being lifted in Ohio, businesses in Bowling Green are making and seeing changes in their day to day operations. I spoke to Taylor Huff, a Shots Inc. employee and Seth Rambo, a Liquid employee about their experiences with the curfew and the changes now that it is lifted.
I created a photo slideshow on the differences between Marco's Pizza and Wild Pie because Wild Pie replaced Marco's in the BGSU Student Union and Kreischer Late Night. After conducting a survey of 324 students, I found that 43.2% of respondents "love" Marco's Pizza, while only 2.8% of respondents "love" Wild Pie. Also, 84.5% of respondents said they would prefer to have Marco's on campus instead of Wild Pie.
