Hi, I’m Zak Smith and I’m a sophomore at Bowling Green State University studying Broadcast Journalism. I’m from the Cleveland, Ohio area and attended Notre-Dame Cathedral Latin High School (NDCL) where I participated in Marching Band, Student Ambassadors, and was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 64 where I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in October of 2018 after being in the scouting program since I was 7 years old. After graduating NDCL in 2018, I decided to attend Bowling Green State University where I joined the Falcon Marching Band for the fall semester of 2018. In the spring of 2019, I joined the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization where I am an avid broadcaster for the organization and travel with the group working on my craft of being a broadcaster. As a broadcaster, I have covered sports such as Volleyball, Soccer, Football, Basketball, and Baseball. I have also covered two Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships in the 2019-2020 year including the MAC Volleyball Championship, and the Women’s Soccer Championship as well as being a color commentator on ESPN+ for Volleyball in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) all in the 2019-2020 academic year. Also, in the 2019-2020 Academic year, I earned the position of Production Director in the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization where I record promotions for Falcon Radio and help promote Bowling Green Athletics and the campus of Bowling Green. In my free time I enjoy watching sports such as football, baseball, and basketball, as well as being an avid gamer and spending time outdoors remaining active. Upon graduating from college, my goal is to be a play-by-play sports analyst eventually working my way up to be an analyst for a professional sports organization in the major leagues such as the MLB, NFL, NBA or in College Athletics.
