Meet Nova, an 8 month old German Shepherd and Golden Retriever mix. Her owner got her from a breeder when she was just 10 weeks old. Little Nova was one of 11 dogs. She was the second litter of her parents; her mother was a German Shepherd and father was a Golden Retriever. She is an energetic and playful dog who takes on traits and physical attributes of both of her parents.
The German Shepherd breed is often most known for being an all-purpose worker. They are large, muscular dogs who portray a high level of intelligence. These dogs make a very loyal and confident breed, growing to an average of 65-90 pounds as a grown male and 50-70 pounds as a grown female. These dogs are often used as guide, herding, and police dogs. As any dog with good training and a loving owner, these dogs can make a very loyal and loving companion dog.
The Golden Retriever breed is most commonly known for being a friendly, intelligent, and devoted dog. They are well-known for being a “work horse” in the field, seeing eye dog, and search and rescue dog. These dogs portray a thick, golden, and wavy coat. The Golden Retriever will grow to be about 65-75 pounds as a male and 55-65 pounds as a female. These dogs make a good companion and are easily trainable.

Here is a link to the unedited version of the interview.
Hello my name is Lauren Salkiewicz and I am currently a student at Bowling Green State University. I am a 5th year student, pursueing my second bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in sociology. I completed my first bachelor’s degree, Media Productions with a minor in comunications, in December of 2017. I am proud to say that I recently turned 21 and have three diplomas, those of which being; high school, Associates of Arts, and a Bachelor’s in Media Productions with a Minor in communcations. Throughout my time in school I have also managed to have honors every semester. I have been on the Dean’s list since I entered college in 2015 and have achieved the position of Secretary in the National Society of Leadership and Success. This was a huge achievement of mine but could not do it without the support of friends and family.
I am a very family oriented woman and try to support my family as much as I can. I live with my mom and dad and two little brothers. My two little brothers are very active in sports each playing at a very advanced level. Growing up I was very active in following my two passions; cheerleading and softball. I was a cheerleader throughout my time in middle school and high school. I played softball for 13 years and it was my favorite sport to learn and play. I was a short stop and third basemen untill I was injured then played second base after returning.
After I graduate with my second bachelor’s I plan on finding a job being a News reporter. I have always loved talking to people as well as being in front of the camera. That is one of the several things that I love to. My dream is to work my way up to a News reporter overtime for a big news company. I aspire to move out of Ohio but it is not a necessary thing that I need to do. With the support of friends and family I know I can achieve any dream that I set my heart to.
