Grace Scharte's HTML Site

Hello! Happy for you to be here!

My name Grace Scharte and I am a third-year at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). My first year of college I studied at Capital University and in Fall of 2019 I decided to transfer into BGSU. I am studying Public Relations with a Minor in Spanish. In the future I plan to travel abroad and study in Spain but due to COVID-19 I must wait and see if things will settle down before I make set plans to go.

After college I hope to work for a corporate office focusing on PR for that one company. On campus I am a part of three organizations, which are Falcon Communications, Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and the Girls Club Lacrosse team at BGSU. I have been playing Lacrosse since my eighth grade year and my first year of college I received an opportunity to coach one of my hometowns middle school girls lacrosse teams. I continue to play club here at BGSU for a fun active activity outside of school and work.

Falcon Communications is an on-campus public relations firm for the social media accounts on campus. I get to help create media and content for those organizations to post on their social media accounts. This helps me practice what I hope to be doing in my future career. Over the past year I have been able to work with BG Radio Sports and Off-Campus Student services. PRSSA keeps me updated with the changes with in my future work field and allows me to explore the different jobs and opportunities I could have in my future. I am excited to see what my future has in store for me.

With COVID-19 being the worlds focus, I thought it would be helpful to inform BGSU students or parents on how the university is handling cases. It is a scary thought for many but I felt that informing people would take away some of that fear. Below is a video that gives the major points of what students can expect when they are asked to quarantine.
