About Me

Just Me

Hi! I am Amantha Garpiel, I am a senior at Bowling Green State University this year. I am majoring in English with a minor in Journalism.

I hope to be an editor after graduating, but I am still really uncertain about my future. Despite being unsure about my future, the last few years I have spent at BGSU have helped me somewhat sort out my future. When I first came to BGSU in the fall of 2017, I did not even know what I was going to major in. The undecided program at BGSU was more helpful than I expected it to be. I was really able to narrow down my field of study and after my first two semesters, I found my passion in English. My passion for my major and my hope to become an editor honestly should not be as surprising as they are. Especially when my favorite pastimes are photography, reading, and writing.

Audio Story: The Smith and Sidle Show

In these trying times, every one is attempting to fill their time and find new hobbies. Zak Smith and Jacob Sidle, two Bowling Green State University students, decided to start their own sports podcast. Available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, The Smith and Sidle Show covers both professional and collegiate level sports. I got to speak to both students to find out why they started their show.

Slideshow presentation- How the Coronavirus has changed BGSU

Every school and business is struggling right now because of the Coronavirus, and Bowling Green State University is no exception. However, with plans for hybrid classes and constant reminders around campus to stay safe, BGSU has managed to maintain some sense of a normal campus life. I attempted to capture both what has changed in the past few months and what has remained relatively the same.
