Reid Zura's Webpage

Below, you will find some information about me. I am currently seeking a summer internship opportunity in the field(s) of journalism, public relations, marketing and communications. Enjoy! :)

My name is Reid Zura, and I am a student at Bowling Green State University. I am currently a junior, studying Public Relations with a minor in Marketing and German.

This past summer, I had the privilege to be a part of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store’s Summer Scholar Program. I spent eight weeks as their Corporate Communications intern, and I learned valuable skills in the communication, public relations, marketing and media fields. While at Cracker Barrel, I mainly assisted in the day-to-day public relations tasks throughout the team. I was responsible for helping the team in whatever way possible and finishing my tasks in an efficient manner. Most of the time, this included doing research, editing, writing and anything else that may have come our way that day—after all anything could (and does) happen at a company with over 660 functioning stores across the United States.

After returning from my internship, I am still working for Cracker Barrel and balancing school. My current position is a host. I greet guests as they walk in and follow a fair seating rotation based on the server’s floor plan. More recently, I have started my cross-training work to become a server. In the future, I will start training on the floor and expand my skills to exemplify the mission of my store and Cracker Barrel.

This school year, I am the assistant firm director for Bowling Green State University’s first and only student run public relations firm, Falcon Communications. In this role, I assist the firm director in making sure the day-to-day functions of the firm are completed. This includes social media posts, feature stories and articles are scheduled out on time, written correctly and meet our client’s expectations and needs.

Looking toward the future, I am currently seeking new internship opportunities for the summer of 2020. I have an interest in the technology, automotive, fashion and entertainment industries. In a more long-term glance at the future, I am set to graduate in 2021. After graduation, I hope to move to New York City and pursue my dream of working and living in the Big Apple with a company that shares my values and interests and allows me to use and improve upon my skill set.

Be sure to check out my resume here, connect with me on LinkedIn and follow my Twitter & Instagram, to stay up to date with my day to day adventures!

Thank you! 🙂
